Our Philosophy
The creation myths say humans were born of clay.
We are born of the living soil, and when we feed it, the abundance is reciprocal. We approach the land humbly, asking it to protect and feed us, and in return we provide our stewardship.
We are part of the earth and that is good news! We evolved to be comfortable in precisely the environment we could create with the resources locally abundant to our ancestors. Industrialization created an affinity toward more processed, less natural materials which supplanted materials that needed no replacing.
Our projects are designed to last. Using vapor-open assemblies, construction methods refined over thousands of years, and simple, sturdy materials that are nonetheless easy to maintain and repair, the buildings we design will live for centuries. KinDesign combines the best advancements of both ancient and modern construction.
